Felting, with its unique possibilities, ensures that pleasurable results can be achieved by anyone with or without vast levels of experience. The important requirements are that you like to work with colour, form and can tolerate having wet soapy hands!
Felting itself, as a technique, is a very old hand craft and has played a vital role in textile history. The technique is simple; the controlled shrinkage of carded wool using soapy water and manipulation. From this simple principle, one can create anything from warm slippers to the finest of fabrics. If we place the wool onto some fabric, for example silk, we create nuno felt; which means felt on top of woven fabric. The wool fibres creep through the fabric during the felting process and one can thus create a completely new cloth.
The courses are themed so that participants of all experience levels can work together on the same type of project, using the same techniques.
My new studio is completed and I can invite to workshops in new surroundings with lots of light, nature view and a good space to work in!

This year the theme for my workshops is only NUNOFELT . The participants decide themselves what kind of clothing they want to make, and because the group is only six persons ( we need big tables) it is no problem for me to help everyone. My experience is that everyone learns from the other as well as from their own project.
